Our   Coffee

FROM THE FAR AWAY REGIONS OF ETHIOPIA, TO THE SHADE COVERED MOUNTAIN SLOPES OF HONDURAS, WE LOOK FAR AND WIDE TO GATHER THE HIGHEST QUALITY BEANS FROM AROUND THE WORLD. WE FRESHLY ROAST OUR COFFEE, PACKAGE IT IN VACUUM-SEALED VALVE BAGS, AND IMMEDIATELY SHIP IT TO YOU. THIS IS HOW WE ENSURE THAT YOU RECEIVE YOUR COFFEE IN THE FRESHEST CONDITION POSSIBLE.

Freshly Roasted

We roast our coffee daily and ship it immediately. This means that the coffee you get from us was roasted within a few days of receiving  it making it some of the freshest coffee available.

High QUality

We buy hand picked, shade grown beans which means we don't get any under-ripe beans that bitter the coffee. This gives you the highest quality coffee possible.

Fair Trade

We buy only fair trade coffee beans which means that you can enjoy your coffee with a clean conscience knowing that the family growing the coffee receives a fair wage.

This year marks the 153rd anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg. The Battle of Gettysburg was fought July 1-3, 1863 in and around the town of Gettysburg, PA. It was the battle with the most casualties in the Civil War. It is often described as the war’s turning point
In honor of this battle and the soldiers that fought there Furnace Hills Coffee Company has created a Soldiers Blend. Coffee was essential during this war. Coffee and hardtack were the two foods the soldiers could count on that wouldn’t spoil and could be easily transported in a haversack.

After careful research Furnace Hills Coffee decided on an Ethiopian coffee bean. Part of the blend is a dark roast and part a light roast. This was done to do our best to replicate the coffee roasting conditions and practices on the battle field. Coffee was roasted in a frying pan over an open camp fire resulting in an un-even roast. There is no bite at the end of the swallow, but it stays with you for a while after drinking.
